Product Name: Gamma Cyclodextrin Synonyms: Gamma-Cyclodextrin, γ-Cyclodextrin, Cyclomaltooctaose. CAS#: 17465-86-0 Abbreviation: GCD Quality: Food grade / Pharmaceutical Grade Standard: USP
Characteristics & Applications: γ-Cyclodextrin (gamma-CD) is a cyclic α-(1,4)-linked oligosaccharide consisting of eight glucose molecules. Like other Cyclodextrins, γ-Cyclodextrin can form inclusion complexes with a variety of organic molecules because the inner side of the torus-like molecule is less polar than the outer side. The cavity of γ-Cyclodextrin is bigger than that of β-Cyclodextrin, therefore it is used to inclusion with bigger drug moleculars. γ-Cyclodextrin is also a dietary fiber that can be used as a food additive.
